Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally

• Favorites: Wallpapers you mark as favorite are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences. They never leave your phone.
• Preferences: Your theme (light/dark/system) and language selection.
• Search history: Recent searches cached temporarily for better suggestions.

Information Collected Automatically

• Advertising ID (AAID/GAID): A non-personal identifier provided by Android, used to show relevant ads. You can reset or limit it in your device settings.
• Crash and performance data: Anonymous reports about app crashes, sent through Firebase Crashlytics.
• Anonymous usage analytics: Aggregate data such as which screens are visited and which features are used.
• Device information: Device model, OS version, language and region. No information that personally identifies you.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect your name, email, phone number or address.
• We do NOT require account registration.
• We do NOT access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photo gallery.
• We do NOT track your precise location.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the wallpaper service.
• To save your favorites and preferences on your device.
• To show relevant ads through our advertising partners.
• To detect and fix bugs through crash reports.
• To understand which features users prefer, in order to improve the app.
• To comply with legal obligations when required.

Third-Party Services

WallPix integrates with the following services. Each of them has its own privacy policy:

Google AdMob

Displays advertisements within the app. Collects the Advertising ID and basic technical data to personalize ads.

Google Privacy Policy

Meta Audience Network

An additional advertising network operated by Meta (Facebook). May collect the Advertising ID and similar data.

• Firebase Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics.
• Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports.
• Firebase Remote Config: Remote app configuration.

App Permissions

• Internet: Required to download wallpapers and display ads.
• Set Wallpaper: To apply images as your device wallpaper.
• Storage (Android 10 and below only): To save downloads in the gallery.
• Network State: To detect when you are offline.
• Notifications (Android 13+): To inform you about new content or updates.

Advertising and Advertising ID

WallPix displays ads through Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network. These networks use your Advertising ID (AAID) to show you relevant ads.

You can:

• Reset your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings.
• Limit ad personalization from Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device.
• Choose not to see personalized ads, although you will continue to see generic ads.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

WallPix is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it immediately.

Your Rights (GDPR - European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access: Request what information we hold about you.
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate information.
• Erasure: Request that we delete your information.
• Portability: Receive your data in a portable format.
• Object: Object to certain uses of your information.
• Withdraw consent: At any time for non-essential processing.

Your Rights (CCPA - California Residents)

If you reside in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to know what personal information we collect.
• Right to delete personal information.
• Right to opt out of the sale of your data (WallPix does NOT sell personal information).
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

Data Storage and Security

The majority of your data (favorites, preferences) is stored locally on your device and never leaves your phone.

Data that does leave your device (Advertising ID, anonymous analytics) is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections and processed by the third-party services listed in this policy.

We do not maintain our own servers with personal user information.

Data Retention

• Local data: Stored until you uninstall the app or clear app data.
• Analytics data (Firebase): Up to 14 months by default.
• Advertising data: Retention determined by AdMob and Meta policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we will notify you within the app before they take effect.
